Personal 2020
A messenger bag designed to fit for a hypothetical upcoming line of Archipel Paris, a French leather goods company. The goal was to analyze a brand and create a new product that fits within their image.
Sketch Exploration
The form and construction of the messenger bag was explored through a series of sketches done digitally in Sketchbook Pro, focusing on two overall styles: the classic messenger bag and the more briefcase inspired portfolio bag.
Assembly
As keeping with one of Archipel’s core ideologies, the bag is made from very few actual pattern pieces stamped out of leather sheet. It is comprised of two pieces, interleaved and folded together as seen above.
